The Hammerhead Karoo is a GPS bike computer from SRAM with a color touchscreen and navigation tuned for road, MTB, and gravel riding. It connects to SRAM AXS components, e-bikes, and ANT+ lights, and pairs with a companion app and web dashboard.

Hammerhead’s software is constantly evolving. We work in multi-week sprints, listening to customer feedback and turning around design features quickly to improve the riding experience. Below are some of the features I’ve worked on.
Extensions on Karoo
I helped design the placement and UX interactions for installing, launching, and filtering Extensions on the Karoo bike computer.
What is an Extension? Extensions are add-on apps that expand what the Karoo can do beyond its built-in features. For example, Epic Ride Weather shows live weather info on the device, and other extensions add new data fields to your rides.
Heatmaps
I designed the end-to-end Heatmaps experience across the Karoo bike computer, Companion App, and web Dashboard.
What is a heatmap? A personal heatmap on the Karoo displays your ride history directly on the map, so you can see where you've already been and discover where to explore next. You can view it on the device while riding and use it on the Dashboard and Companion App when planning routes.
Live Tracking on mobile
I conducted extensive rider research and used those insights to design the live tracking experience from the Karoo via the Companion App, which lets riders share their location with family and friends while they ride. I also designed automatic sharing via email and text message, so loved ones can follow along without riders having to think about it.
Climber on Dashboard
Riders consistently told us they wanted to see climbs while planning routes. In response, I designed a Climber feature within the existing route planning tool on the Hammerhead Dashboard. Once launched, the reviews were overwhelmingly positive, with riders praising how easily they could spot climbs, gauge effort, and plan routes with more confidence before ever leaving the house.
